From Ashes to Arrival: A Full-Circle Moment on Raymond Avenue

There are years that begin quietly… and there are years that arrive like a thunderclap.
For me—and for so many families in our Altadena community--this year began in fire.
The Eaton Wildfire didn’t just take structures; it took familiarity, safety, rhythm, and the places our bodies knew as “home.” As someone who teaches others how to downshift from stress, reconnect with their body’s wisdom, and build calm from the inside out, I found myself face-to-face with my own lessons in the rawest possible way.
And yet, through all of it--
the smoke, the shock, the cleanup, the insurance maze,
the piles of ash where memories once lived--
something deeper survived.
Hope.
Community.
Resilience.
And the quiet, steady belief that we would rise again.

The Body Holds the Story… and the Healing
Losing home and studio at the same time creates a kind of full-body grief.
Your nervous system feels the rupture before your mind even forms the words.
I spent much of this year doing what I teach every one of my clients:
  • breathing through uncertainty
  • anchoring safety in small daily rituals
  • rebuilding strength gently and intentionally
  • letting the body unwind shock, layer by layer
  • trusting that healing may be slow, but it is certain
Movement became my medicine.
Community became my grounding.
Faith became my compass.
And step by step, the path home began to reveal itself.

✨ A Full-Circle Moment: We’re Breaking Ground
Now, as we close the chapter on this year, I get to share something I’ve prayed for, worked toward, and held in my heart:
We are breaking ground on our new home. Not just rebuilding a house--
but reclaiming a sense of safety, belonging, and possibility.
The ceremony is called Return to Raymond, and it feels exactly like that:
a return… but also an arrival.
A homecoming… but also a beginning.
A moment that says, “We made it through the fire, and we’re still rising.”
I would be honored to have you join us:
📍 3271 North Raymond Avenue, Altadena
🗓 Wednesday, December 10
⏰ 11:00 am
✨ Light refreshments + warm community gathering
Hosted by Rahban Development & the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce.

Why This Moment Matters
For the woman who wants to age strong, stay active, travel, move joyfully, and stay in her body with confidence—this moment is a reminder:
You can do hard things when your body feels safe.
You can rebuild strength at any age.
You can rise higher when you honor your own needs.

For the seeker, the builder, the dreamer reinventing her life—this is the phoenix moment:
Sometimes life breaks your heart to rebuild your wings.
Sometimes the ashes become the soil for your next chapter.
Sometimes the path forward is born from what tried to stop you.

For all of us… this groundbreaking is proof that:
  • healing is real
  • new beginnings are possible
  • community carries us when we can’t carry ourselves
  • hope is stronger than loss

If You Need a Sign… This Is One

If this year stretched you…
if you’re rebuilding something in your own life…
if you’ve wondered whether you’ll ever “get back to yourself”…
Come stand with us in this moment.
Let it be a reminder that beginnings don’t have to be loud to be powerful.
Sometimes they arrive quietly—with a shovel in the ground, a breath in the chest, and a community gathered to witness the rise.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
Your messages, prayers, hugs, and presence have carried me more than you know.
Here’s to healing.
Here’s to homecoming.
Here’s to rising—together. 💛

The holidays ask a lot of our bodies — more cooking, more bending, more lifting, more time on our feet, and more emotional load than we often acknowledge.

And after the year we’ve had here in the wake of the Eaton Wildfire...the loss of our homes, community scattered, navigating insurance, FEMA, SBA loans, rebuilding, replanning, rediscovering tiny pockets of normalcy — I’ve been thinking a lot about how much our bodies carry for us. Not just physically… but emotionally and spiritually too.

That reflection led me to a little surprise.

While organizing some old files, I found a short video I made during another wild season, the Covid lockdown. It was recorded in the kitchen I lost in the fire. Watching it again brought a mix of tenderness and clarity.

The message from that moment still matters today:
the small, unconscious movements we make every day add up.
They can support the spine… or slowly strain it.
They can make us feel safe… or subtly stressed.

So today, I want to share that rediscovered “blast from the past” with you — not for nostalgia, but because it can genuinely help you move through the holidays with less tension and more ease.

In the video you’ll learn a simple shift in alignment that can prevent back strain — especially helpful during a week filled with cooking, dishwashing, hosting, and all the beautiful (but taxing) hustle of the holiday season.
It’s a tiny tweak, but tiny tweaks are how we build body awareness… which is how we build nervous system safety… which is how we build resilience.
Click below to watch:

Why Body Mechanics Matter (Especially Now)
Your body is your lifelong home, your anchor, your feedback center, your compass.
And after a year of physical disruption and emotional recovery, supporting that home matters more than ever.
Healthy alignment helps you:
  • reduce unnecessary stress on the spine
  • prevent holiday tension from compounding
  • feel more steady and grounded
  • create more nervous system safety
  • move through busy seasons with less overwhelm
It’s one of the most practical ways to give yourself care without adding anything to your to-do list.
Just awareness.
Just presence.
Just honoring the body you’re rebuilding your life in.

A Reflection for You
Before you move on with your day, take a quiet moment to ask yourself:
“What is one small thing my body is helping me do today that I’m grateful for?”

Your body has been carrying you... through stress, through recovery, through rebuilding, through growth. And gratitude gently shifts the nervous system into safety, connection, and steadiness.

If you’re craving more calm, strength, and ease, my 3-week program DE-STRESS to AVOID DISTRESS is designed to help you restore the safety and stability your body is asking for — especially during demanding seasons.
