My dear friend and colleague Elaine and I have been discussing this lately, and if the Nervous System is the basis for behavior, and we are in the business of changing movement behavior for the better (and by "better", we mean more integrated, stabilized movement that gives us both freedom from pain and the potential for greater strength and athletic performance), then it would be neglect on our part not to include education on the Vagus Nerve (and its role in regulating our daily life) in our teachings.
We want our peeps to know the tricks of Vagus Nerve regulation so their benefits from Pilates increase. We can only get so deep by working with movement of the musculoskeletal system; this Nervous System work is like the missing piece in our Pilates healing puzzle!
So, we are excited to offer you some basic education about your Vagus Nerve, as well as some practical techniques for toning it.
INTRO TO YOUR VAGUS NERVE will be a 75 minute (If possible allow yourself a few extra minutes in case you, or someone else, has a question or observation that leads to compelling discussion. 😊) experiential workshop accessible for all levels, and designed for those of you who want to take your Pilates training (AND RESULTS) to a deeper, more integrated level.
